1987 s Raindancing spawned the hit singles Ordinary Girl and a cover of Floy Joy s Weak In The Presence of Beauty . Sony. * Out-of-print in the US.

What is the date? - Moyet s voice is as sharp and innate as ever: However the sounds here are a bit dated. The production is the problem, not the material. There is a sense that the production team was trying a Jolley/Swain v/s Yazoo thing here. It doesn t work on every track. Had this album been acapella, I would have fainted, I know. Blow Wind Blow is simplistic and stands the test of time wonderfully. Bottom line - the tracks are dated. Moyet has stated that she didn t enjoy making this album, although she couldn t offer any specifics: I think I ve found the specific - no truth to her craft.

Just bringing up the rating - I love the ballads mostly. Shout out to Patti Austin who recorded her Honey For The Bees on her Gettin Away With Murder album.

Man, what a time... - Watch out--talk about the ability to hook your emotions to the current events in your life...Far better than Alf...Strong ALL the way through...Don t be driving or alone with ANY member of the opposite sex for sleep like breathingI think her music really suffers from CD to mp3...Out of the three albums of hers that i ve heard all the way, this is BY FAR the best.

light weight - Compared to her work with Yazoo and her later solo work, this is empty, vapid and unfortunately saddled with that mid-eighties sound ( the preset synth sounds, the gated drums, etc etc.) For completists and serious fans only.

Not her best - Although it does contain some good tracks, this is one of those albums you wonder what could have been.If you are not a Alison Moyet fan than i say skip it.You can get the best parts of this cd of Singles. This album suffers from bad son writing.Alison went from New Wave (or something like it) to pop.I think they really were just trying to break out in the states. Also this is pretty much a reproduction of ALF.Of course no one could ever capture the magic that was on Alf.
